Melo

Wilder Jean Pierre, known as Melo, is a Haitian artist born on May 18, 1995. His musical journey began in church, where he first discovered his passion for sound and performance. He later pursued formal music studies in Jacmel, where he began composing his own songs and shaping his artistic identity.

It was during this period that he crossed paths with Joseph Zenny Jr. ( Tjoe), a legendary figure in the Haitian Music Industry (HMI). Together they collaborated on a Carnival music project, an experience that elevated Melo’s craft and opened the doors to what would come next.

Melo was signed to the label Apache World Music (AWM), marking an important turning point in his artistic journey. Under this banner, he took part in the project Apachildz Vol. 1, alongside artist Peterson Saintilien (Pablo) and the legendary Joseph Zenny Jr. The album quickly crossed Haiti’s borders, amassing over 13 million views on YouTube, more than one million streams on Spotify, and over 637,000 plays on Apple Music. This success allowed him to build a strong audience not only in Haiti, but also in the United States, Canada, France, and across the Caribbean diaspora.

At the same time, Melo established himself on stage by participating in several major events. Notably, he performed at Ayiti Déplogé in Miami in July 2025, followed by BAYO in Montreal in August 2025, where he performed in front of more than 10,000 spectators. He also opened for the talented Fatima during one of her shows. In May 2025, he released the visual for Tibo, produced under AWM, offering a polished and immersive visual approach to his artistic universe.

Today, fully committed to his solo career, Melo is developing a rich and modern musical identity at the crossroads of Afrobeats, R&B, trap, and Kompa. His sound reflects both his Haitian roots and his international influences. Inspired by artists such as Chris Brown, Davido, and Wizkid, he is shaping a personal style driven by emotion, authenticity, and a constant desire to evolve.

His upcoming album, “SIGNATURE”, is his most personal work up to date. As Melo himself says:
